Your Role
 
We are looking for a Packaging Category Buyer, who will report to Affinity Procurement Director and will closely work with AG Group Packaging Category Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for executing category strategies to ensure compliant, efficient and value-driven procurement activities.
 
What you will do 

Strategy & Planning 

  • Provide data, insights, and analysis to support the Packaging Category Manager in defining category strategies, including supplier performance trends, recurring issues, and market intelligence.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and tracking, ensuring alignment with cost targets and business priorities.
  • Support supplier segmentation and risk assessment activities, bringing visibility to key opportunities and challenges.
  • Ensure category initiatives align with broader business priorities such as innovation, sustainability, and supply resilience.
 Operational Sourcing & Execution
 
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP), including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract implementation.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers (pricing, service levels, contractual conditions), integrating ESG clauses when required.
  • Ensure correct spend categorization, contract compliance, and alignment with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Monitor supplier performance through SRM tools, leading regular reviews and ensuring data accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and coordinate all procurement-related activities linked to packaging relaunches, ensuring timelines and time-to-market objectives are achieved.

Value Delivery & Cost Management 

  • Identify and implement cost-saving and value creation initiatives in line with procurement and category targets.
  • Perform cost analyses, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to financial performance by ensuring procurement initiatives positively impact P&L and working capital.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability goals.
 Supplier Quality, Compliance & Sustainability 
  • Collaborate with Quality, Vendor Assurance, and other functions to manage supplier incidents, corrective actions, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Ensure supplier relationships and contracts fully support ESG and sustainable sourcing objectives.
  • Actively engage suppliers in sustainability initiatives and continuous performance improvement. 
 Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, Sustainability, Innovation, and Industrial teams to align priorities and ensure procurement processes are followed.
  • Support cross-functional projects, including New Product Development (NPD), ensuring alignment on cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Operate effectively within a matrix organization, coordinating with Category Managers, SBUs, and central procurement teams. 
What we are looking for 
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging procurement, ideally within FMCG or product-driven environments.
  • Strong end-to-end procurement expertise in international and matrix organizations.
  • Proven experience managing sourcing processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP) and supplier negotiations.
  • Good understanding of procurement policies, compliance, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills, with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP / S2P tools (SAP, Ariba, Jaggaer).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; French and/or Italian are a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
